Standing with Nepal: Bring Shelter to Families Stranded by the Floods
Every family deserves a safe place to call home. But on August 26, a sudden glacier collapse triggered catastrophic flash floods near the Nepal-Tibet border. In an instant, roaring torrents of mud, ice, and rock swept away entire villages. Thousands of families have been left homeless, isolated in remote mountainous terrain, and exposed to the elements.
Right now, hundreds of people are missing, and families who survived have lost absolutely everything. They are facing freezing mountain temperatures and the overwhelming fear of being cut off from the rest of the world. No family should have to survive a disaster like this alone.

You don't have to watch this tragedy unfold from afar. The Summit County Rotary Club is stepping up to help, and we are working through our long-time, trusted partner, ShelterBox.
ShelterBox specializes in doing what seems impossible: getting life-saving emergency shelter and essential aid into the world’s most hard-to-reach disaster zones. Their teams are already on the ground in the heavily impacted Rasuwa district, coordinating with local partners to deliver exactly what displaced families need to survive and begin rebuilding
