Hello Rotarians!
As more of us have been getting vaccinated against Covid, the time is looking right for making the transition to hybrid Rotary meetings. On February 23rd we will start having an in-person option for our meeting. I know there are many people who are excited to start going back to meetings instead of seeing each other over Zoom!

If you like attending meetings while exercising or you are not comfortable going back to meetings in person yet, never fear. The Zoom option will be a part of all of our meetings going into the future. This has been such a great way to connect our members who are in another state (or country)!

The Senior Center is not hosting in person meetings for groups of our size yet. Bill Gilchrist has a great working relationship with the LaQuinta hotel in Silverthorne. (Where the Old Chicago used to be). They are going to provide a meeting room for a reasonable rate that is large enough for us to have 40 people sign up to attend meetings each week at our usual day and time. Of course if the county's requirements change, the number of people allowed to attend may go up or down. We are going to start out with providing a take home breakfast so that we can all keep our masks on for the duration of the meeting. Coffee and juice will be provided during the meeting.

We will have our own entrance off to the left of the main entrance that goes straight into the meeting area and there are restrooms down a short hallway.

On Tuesday the 23rd, our program will be a discussion on how we would like the meetings to be going forward. Are people comfortable taking masks off to eat breakfast on location, or do you like the idea of keeping masks on and having a take home meal? If you like the idea of the take away meal, do you want the meal to be an easy-to-heat option or would you like it to be ready to eat? We will have input on these pressing questions and more from the people in the room and our attendees on Zoom.

In order to attend the meeting in person, you will need to have a reservation. The reservations will be open the week prior to the meeting, and the link will be available in the members' section of our website.  We anticipate having some growing pains in the process, and I appreciate your patience as we figure this out.

Everyone needs to do what they are comfortable with. We need to work within the limitations of the county guidelines and we will be requiring masks and maintaining physical distance to protect each other. If you have a reservation, but aren't feeling well on the day of the meeting, please stay home and take care of yourself.

Please try to attend the meeting on February 23rd, either in person or via Zoom so that we can get your feedback on what you would like the meetings to look like going forward. Either way, I look forward to seeing you all!

With Rotary Love,
Lori Burke

Membership Update
The Membership Committee needs new Rotary members to join the committee to help us meet our challenges in attracting and retaining new members.  The Committee meets as needed to discuss approaches in how we can add, and involve, new members.

Given our COVID-19 social distancing meeting structure we want to thank all of those sponsors who are identifying community leaders/business professionals and suggesting they consider joining Rotary.  A Prospective Member should attend 3 zoom meetings before turning in his/her application, sponsor form, a short bio and $100 application fee to the Membership Director, Mike Connolly, or any one on the Membership Committee.  The application will be presented to the Membership Committee for approval and then the Board of Directors.  Once approved, the applicant's bio will be posted in our bulletin for 3 weeks.  If there are no questions about the Prospective Member the induction will be scheduled.

Membership Committee Members are: Chairman - Mike Connolly, Julianne Gilchrist, Tom Marmins, Sandy Mortensen, Ann Clement, Susan Juergensmeier, Stephanie Katz, David "Woody" Woodland, Meg Boyer and Mike Spry.
