I am always amazed by our club.
We are a group of individuals who do such incredible things in the community and in the world. So many of you joined together at our last meeting to help Bret raise money for Shelter Box. During this pandemic, we have all spent more time than ever in our homes. But what about the refugees who don't have a home to shelter in? Who don't have access to sanitation? Supporting Bret's 14er effort doesn't just help her reach her goal. It helps save lives. You helped save lives. (www.shelterboxusa.org/fourteener).

And if you choose to listen to some physically distanced music with Kim Neerpass-Pollock, you won't just enjoy some fresh air, music, and companionship. You will be helping a musician make a living.

Every time you smile at another person from behind your mask, you make an impact on their day. You make a connection. It's what we do as Rotarians. We make connections. We make a difference. Make a difference in someone's life this week~

What day is it?
It's a great day to be a Rotarian!!

Membership Committee News

We want to thank all of those sponsors who are identifying community leaders/business professionals and bringing them to our meetings.  Remember, a Prospective Member should attend 3 meetings before turning in his/her application, sponsor form, a short bio and $100 application fee to the Membership Director, Meg Boyer or any one on the Membership Committee.  The application will be presented to the Membership Committee for approval and then the Board of Directors.  Once approved, the applicant's bio will be posted in our bulletin for 3 weeks.  If there are no questions about the Prospective Member the induction will be scheduled.

The primary sponsor will mentor the new member through the Red Badge process.  We encourage all members to interact with Prospective/New Members as much as possible.  One of the Red Badge requirements is to be a greeter 3 times.  Because our club is growing and we are experiencing so many guests, greeters are very important.  You don't have to be a new member to be a greeter.  It is just one more way of participating in Club Service.

Membership Committee Members are: co-chairs Meg Boyer and Mike Connolly, Julianne Gilchrist, Tom Marmins, Sandy Mortensen, Ann Clement, Susan Juergensmeier, Stephanie Katz, Carolyn Maessen and David "Woody" Woodland.

More interesting details on Bert and her project, including her climbing schedule, can be found at www.shelterboxusa.org/fourteeners.  In support of ShelterBox and helping Bret reach her goal:

   1) “Snail mail” your check to: Summit County Rotary Charitable Fund c/o Frank Bowman, PO Box 4401, Frisco, CO, 80443.  Put “Shelterbox/fourteeners” on your check’s memo line. The bonus of doing it this way is that Frank will credit these donations to your 'Scaling the Summit' points.

   2) Make your donation online at www.shelterboxusa.org/fourteeners - scroll down one page, click on the dark green "Sponsor a Peak" button to start your donation. Make sure you type in Rotary Club of Summit County/ Quandry, Grays and Torry in the “sponsoring a peak” box.

If you are interested in joining Bert on a climb or have other questions about this project or ShelterBox in general, call or text Mike Spry 303-842-9829 or Jim Brook 970-409-8995.
