A Sheriff’s department hovercraft takes the Ice Melt device and clock on to the middle of Lake Dillon
Thank you for your interest in Summit Rotary Club’s Dillon Ice Melt Contest! The Dillon Ice Melt is one of Summit Rotary’s flagship events and fundraisers. For the uninitiated, here’s how it works: every year we haul a giant drum out to the middle of Lake Dillon. Attached to said drum are clocks that tell us when the ice has given way. Locals, visitors, and other astute guessers (such as yourself!) use a mixture of past drop-times, skill, and luck to predict the exact time the clock will drop.
100% of the proceeds go towards supporting the many national and international endeavors of the Rotary Club of Summit County supports.Individual guesses cost $5, and there are discounts of 5 guesses for $20 and 30 guesses for a measly $100.
The contest closes at midnight, Sunday, April 15, 2018 (or earlier if clock drops into the lake before April 15th.) Tickets must be in the hands of a Rotarian by that moment; otherwise, they cannot be accepted. But that shouldn’t be a problem, because you can purchase tickets online right here and now! A committee of highly-trained Rotarians will decide the winners, and their decision will be final. For updates on the clock’s status, please check www.DillonIceMelt.com, or simply like the Summit County Rotary Club on Facebook. We thank you for supporting The Rotary Club of Summit County!
